Email is the job people hand to Grok Bot first, and the connector that needs the most care. These templates triage inboxes, draft replies, clear out newsletters and watch for bills. Most only need to read; very few should ever send without you.
Watch for: Prefer bots that draft rather than send, and say so in their own words. Connect one inbox, not all of them, and keep sending behind your yes.

Below: what a Gmail connection actually lets a Bot do, the safe way to set it up, and the approval rules to add before any routine touches your inbox.
How it connects. Through the Gmail or Outlook app in Connect apps, which signs in to one mailbox. Separately, Grok Bot can give your Bots their own address at mail.grokbot.com for receipts, sign-ups and newsletters, without touching your personal inbox.
Your inbox holds password resets, bank notices and other people's private messages, and Gmail's app can send as you. Grok Bot treats email from other people as information, not instructions, but a narrow setup is still your best protection.
In Settings → General → Bot → Custom Rules, describe the action and choose Ask first.
Ask first before sending, forwarding or replying to any email.Ask first before deleting, archiving or unsubscribing from anything.Real listings that name this connector and, in their creators' words, ask before acting. We haven't tested their instructions.

Scans connected Gmail for recurring paid subscriptions and marketing newsletters, then helps you unsubscribe or cancel — only after you approve each service.
Personal assistant for Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Drive. Triages mail, drafts replies in your voice, manages your calendar, finds and organizes Drive files, and prepares brief…
With the Gmail app connected, a Bot can search and read mail, draft and send, and apply labels on that one mailbox. It can't do more than your account can. Every Bot on your account can use the connection, so add an Ask first rule for sending and disconnect Gmail when a Bot shouldn't use it.

No. Gmail connects one mailbox at a time, so you can't keep a personal and a work mailbox connected together. To switch, disconnect the current mailbox and authorise the other. For receipts and newsletters, the Bot's own mail.grokbot.com address is a separate option that doesn't touch your inbox.

From your connected Gmail, a Bot can send once Auto Review allows it, unless an Ask first rule stops it, so add one. Email from the Bot's own address works differently: anything a routine writes waits as a draft until you press Send, and there's no option for unattended sending.

xAI says a Bot treats email from other people as information, not instructions, and instructions inside an email never count as your permission to send or act. That's a guard, not a guarantee, so keep sending behind approval. Some public templates specifically screen mail for hidden instructions aimed at AI assistants.

What each connection can do comes from these pages. Template counts are listings whose own text or tags name Email, a reading aid rather than a verified integration.
