Grok bots for YouTube

YouTube templates cut clips, summarise interviews and report on a channel's numbers. Most work from public video pages; a few want to sign in to your channel, and that's the moment to slow down.

Watch for: Reading public videos is low risk; uploading to or managing your channel is not. Keep publishing behind a final review.

What YouTube access allows

Checked against xAI's docs

How it connects. We didn't find a dedicated YouTube app in xAI's documentation. Templates typically work from public YouTube pages in the Bot's browser. If one asks you to sign in to YouTube on the Bot's computer, that session is shared with every Bot on your account.

It can read

Read risk: Low
  • Public videos, titles, descriptions and comments the Bot's browser can open

It can write

Write risk: High
  • Only if you sign in on the Bot's computer: whatever your YouTube account can do, such as uploads, comments and titles

Browser sign-ins persist and are shared across your Bots. A Bot signed in to your channel can act as you there.

Set up YouTube safely

  • Prefer templates that work from a pasted link.
  • Only clip or repost videos you have the rights to use.
  • If a template needs your channel, sign in yourself through the computer takeover, and sign out when the job is done.

Ask first rules to add before connecting

In Settings → General → Bot → Custom Rules, describe the action and choose Ask first.

Ask first before uploading, editing or commenting on YouTube.
